primer life series

The Primer Life Series is a suite of books that celebrates the shared text. Peppered with a prime number of poems, each collection remains thematically unique, with each poem faced with a blank page on its right.

The invitation to the reader is to fill in the gaps, the existential caesurae, between the poems. From this peculiar hypothesis of the suppositional-collaborative, a conversation begins. It is a conversation that exists because authors exist, because readers exist. It is a conversation steeped in the dialogic imagination, one that would make Bakhtin nod approvingly, and then smile.

37 Reasons Red Is Rad

Prefaced by an epigraph from Stendhal, this collection remains unapologetically transparent with its varied expressions of sentiment. The poems are written up through eight devices: aphorism, anecdote, allegory, anaphora, envoi, ekphrasis, eclogue, and elegy.

Apophenia
$16.00

Prefaced by an epigraph from Plato, this book comprises poem riddles, written up as impossible puzzles. Apophenia is used as a central technique, the term referring to the human tendency to perceive patterns and meaningfulness in random data and unrelated phenomena. Invoking an assortment of literary figures — a diverse spread, from Akhmatova, Bishop, DeLillo, Diogenes, Eliot, Hejinian, Murakami, Niedecker, Plath, Derrida, Deleuze, Stein, Tzara, to Yeats — this book revels in conflation and catachresis in generating its suite of absurdist poems. This is a commemorative book, marking the publication centennial of Dada: The Art & Literature Review.
